Job Overview: To provide administrative support to outpatient psychiatric clinicians and patients 

  

Responsibilities and Duties:  

  • Efficiently and effectively manage office documents as necessary such as labs orders and  

results, prior authorizations for medications, referrals to other agency programs or other  

medical offices, completion and submission of outside forms including but not limited to FMLA,  

housing, assistance office 

  • Schedule next appointment, sign agency forms as needed 
  • Assist patient and prescriber with medication refill process and documentation 
  • Monitor clinicians’ schedules to ensure accuracy regarding meetings, patient information,  

effective use of appointment slots 

  • Review, correct and approve clinical notes and evaluations 
  • Manage phone calls and document conversations as needed 

  

Education and Experience:  

This position requires the staff person to have above average grammar, spelling and punctuation skills,  

be detail oriented, multitask, able to work mostly independently but also understand and appreciate the 

value of being a team player as it relates to the psychiatric department and the agency. This position  

requires someone who is comfortable with mental health clients. 

  

  • One year of medical office experience preferred
