Job Overview: Retrieving Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), posting all commercial insurance and occasionally client payments. Occasionally communicates with clients regarding questions about Outpatient services and the billing statements they may receive. Bills other client services, authorizations and communicates with clients regarding their insurance eligibility. Prepare, submit, track and reconcile insurance claims for various program groups.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Retrieving insurance EOBs
- Communicate with clients via telephone and letters.
- Communicate with clerical staff and 3rd party payers regarding eligibility, benefits and any potential billing issues.
- Bills client services, including reviewing and processing rejections, denials, renewing authorizations, and contacting clients for appropriate information regarding their insurance coverages.
- Review claim denials and follow-up communication, including claim(s) resubmission, eligibility status, active authorizations and potential telephone calls.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of billing and coding experience preferred
- Computer literate
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
- Ability to communicate with staff and clients
