Job Overview: Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for overseeing and implementing security measures within the organization. This individual helps to ensure the security and privacy of people, property and materials. The FSO plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the agency is secure and safe. The FSO works as a supportive component to all agency programs and services, taking on diverse responsibilities that range from surveillance, training and policy management as well as responding to events.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure Security and Safety – primary duty is to foster a secure and safe environment. This includes looking after the physical well-being of the facilities and ensuring the protection of employees, vendors and clients. The FSO will monitor access and video surveillance and collaborate closely with others.
- Maintain records and logs—document and log security-related occurrences and access records.
- Review, revise and implement security policies and procedures that are specific to facility’s needs.
- Conduct security briefings and ensure all staff are adequately trained and informed on security procedures.
Education and Experience:
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years’ law enforcement experience or security management
- Experience with de-escalation techniques
