The Guidance Center has the distinction of being a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The goal of a CCBHC is to improve access to care, enhance service coordination and improve service quality in order to reduce hospitalizations and inpatient facility use and to reduce suicide and suicide attempts.
Our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) will:
- Improve and expand methods to stabilize people in crisis
- emphasize recovery, wellness, trauma-informed care and physical-behavioral health integration
- identify underserved populations
- improve outreach efforts
- increase substance abuse and mental health screening for early intervention
- implement evidence-based therapies and practices
As a CCBHC, we focus on:
- outcome tracking and accountability
- expansion of availability of non-traditional hours and methods of service delivery
- an increase in consumer involvement in the development of services
- an effort to address professional shortages and staff retention issues
- a change in agency culture to recovery oriented and trauma informed care
- use of an electronic health record with patient portals
CCBHCs are required to provide nine services:
- Crisis services
- Screening assessment and diagnosis
- Patient-centered treatment planning
- Outpatient mental health
- Primary care screening and monitoring
- Case management
- Psychiatric rehabilitation
- Peer support
- Services for veterans and members of the armed forces
