The Guidance Center’s Education and Prevention Program staff attended the 3rd annual Training Day held at the Elk Viewing Center on Wednesday, August 13. The morning presentation by Elk County Detective Gregg McManus and Sergeant Pistner from the St Marys City Police Department provided updated information about the latest drug trends and dangers that families and staff may encounter. The afternoon presentation, facilitated by the planning team, was a self-introspection for staff about how their own personality traits intersect with others to gain insight into improved interactions and communication. Before the sessions, during lunch and after the last presentation, staff were able to take advantage of self-care stations, hike the trail at the Elk Viewing Center, play some brain games, and make and take some special gifts with them. Group picture highlights August 13 as National Left Handers Day.
