The Guidance Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Program would like to recognize Big Sister Sharon Kohler and Little Sister Justice Peterson who recently celebrated their eleven-year match anniversary. With Justice recently turning 18 the match will no longer be eligible for Big Brothers Big Sisters program services.
Sharon fondly looks back on how little and shy Justice was when they were first matched adding that their match has been “a highlight of her life, I have gained a lifetime friend.” Sharon noted Justice has become a part of our family – immediate and extended. The match has a lot of photo albums from their trips and activities over the years sharing funny and memorable experiences.
When asked to describe their relationship, Justice shared, “It’s really good- I’ll call Sharon when I’m having a bad day in college!” Justice already earned her CNA and has been accepted into college for Nursing which she is excited and proud of. Sharon stated since she is already a CNA and going to college to pursue Nursing, I joke that she’ll take care of me when I’m old!”
Both Sharon and Justice would encourage others to become involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and create their own relationship, story, and memories.
