On Saturday, December 10, McKean County Parents as Teachers Home Visitors, Julie Tsepelis and Bonnie Wilson joined Seneca Highlands IU-9 Early Intervention Birth-3 staff and Bradford High School student volunteers to share holiday fun and activities with local parents and children. The event was part of Bradford’s Historic Downtown Christmas celebration. The storefront room was decorated in a Christmas theme, with a tree, posters, and stuffed animals.
Children were encouraged to trace and cut a handprint, which, when joined others, made a poster in the shape of a tree. Handprint trees from previous years were on display. There were “snowball” throwing and crafting activities.
Children and their families shared an opportunity to select a foam holiday shape, decorate it with stickers, and take it home to hang on their tree. Each one was unique, like the children who made them. Bradford School District provided books, and each child was encouraged to select one.
Cookies and milk were available, and Mrs. Claus, read stories throughout the event.
