The Guidance Center’s Parents as Teachers Cameron County Family Center recently took families on a fun-filled Road-Trip USA Summer Adventure during their July playgroup. Armed with maps and a sense of adventure, children traveled across the playground, stopping at “states” set up along their journey to explore different parts of the country.
Along the way, participants learned fascinating facts about each state, discovered native wildlife, and even enjoyed discovering some of the unique laws that remain in place today. The adventure continued with a wildlife-themed story that sparked curiosity and imagination.
To wrap up their travels, children created a hands-on craft inspired by the animals they encountered throughout their trip. The activity combined learning, creativity, and play, making for a memorable summer day filled with exploration and discovery.
The Guidance Center’s Parents as Teachers program is proud to provide engaging opportunities that encourage learning, family interaction, and fun for children of all ages.
