HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce has launched a new program – the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) – to expand support combating the nation’s opioid crisis.
The Guidance Center in now an approved STAR LRP so individuals working in the SUD population can apply for loans. STAR LRP provides up to $250,000 to eligible health professionals, including bachelor’s-level SUD counselors and behavioral health paraprofessionals, in exchange for a six-year, full-time service commitment.
