With the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease 2019, and closing of agencies and businesses, it is understandable that individuals are forced to find ways to cope with many different stressors. At The Guidance Center, it is our hope that we can lessen the amount of worry for individuals and their families through maintaining as many behavioral health services as possible. Although the mode of delivery of services may be different, the majority are still available. Most of the programs are continuing to be offered through telephone or video contacts. Staff are utilizing technology platforms for staying connected to individuals as well as each other. For individuals who are not able to receive telehealth services, in person, office based services are available for urgent needs. Additionally, in McKean County, there has not been any changes with the 24 hour Crisis Services offered. For those who are experiencing a crisis, the number to call is 814-362-4623 or 1-800-459-6568.
To reduce the risk of exposure and adhere to social distancing mandates, the agency has closed the STEPS Drop In Center and Family Centers at this time.
The Guidance Center is also providing updated communication and helpful tips on their website https://www.guidancecenter.net and Facebook page. Individuals are encouraged to check these routinely.
