A segment recently featured on the TODAY show highlights the impact of the federal Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) funding that supports The Guidance Center’s Parents as Teachers (PAT) Home Visiting program.  Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning identifies PAT as one of the Evidence Based Home Visiting models eligible for MIECHV funds since 2011.

Parents as Teachers is available in McKean, Potter, Cameron, Clearfield and Jefferson Counties through The Guidance Center’s certified professional Home Visitors that travel to meet families prenatally or with children up to Kindergarten entry age.  Any family residing in these 5 counties can receive weekly Home Visits that support their child’s learning through activities and information shared during these Home Visits.  There is no criteria for eligibility other than to live in the counties identified.  Families can enroll anytime up until their child enters Kindergarten.
