Families participating in The Guidance Center’s PAT program continue to receive books and toys made available due to the Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting grant that supports the program. The PAT activity Exploration Hike: Observing Nature and Pretending was chosen for this home visit because the family loves to explore nature and find things in their back yard. Both parents helped 2 year old Brielle find some bugs and a small toad to put in the bug catcher kit that was given to them.  This was especially interesting for them and became an ongoing project as they caught different bugs each day to “feed” the toad before they eventually released it back into their yard.  The book, What’s Your Favorite Bug by Eric Carle was given at the next home visit.
