On November 29, 2023, The Guidance Center Parents as Teachers program partnered with The Early Learning Resource Center Region 2 to cohost the 3rd Annual Christmas Event in Clearfield County. Families that live in Clearfield County were invited to attend the free event. Seven other area agencies that provide early childhood education services to families were in attendance to set up a table to provide their program’s information as well as do a Christmas activity with the children.
Local businesses donated items towards the meal that was provided for all of the families and gift baskets to give away at the end of the event.
During the event caregivers were able to interact with their children by playing a variety of floor games, create Christmas decorations, dance to music provided by a DJ, and take pictures in the different photo areas. Santa arrived on a firetruck with lights and sirens then joined the families inside of the hall for pictures and to give each child a gift.
The event was attended by 30 families, allowing 59 children to meet Santa and receive a special gift from Santa.
