In February for Dental Health Month, Parents as Teachers held a Group Connection at the Bradford Family Center. Claudette Johnson RN, Director of Wellness at The Guidance Center, facilitated a discussion and activities about the importance of dental health. Claudette did an amazing job including families in a toothbrushing activity, where children, with the help of their parents brushed pretend cavities from teeth on a printed page. Families engaged in a discussion of healthy and unhealthy snacks, where even the Parents as Teachers Home Visitors, Ms. Bonnie and Ms. Erika learned that pizza🍕 and bread🍞 aren’t healthy! Families enjoyed a snack and story while discussing how dental health and health in general affects your overall health and even your mental health.
